Dorothy Faye Johnson (known to family members and hometown friends as “Dot”) was born on July 21, 1946 in Dallas, Texas to the late Morris and Ethel Smith. To this union were born fourteen children.  Four Brothers Charles L Smith (Dollie, Bertha), Troy L.  Smith (Joyce), Robert L. Smith (Vonnie), Arthur R. Smith (Alice), and one sister Bobby Baker (John) preceded her in death.  Dorothy attended public schools in Pasadena, California and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1964.  She went on to attend Pasadena Community College majoring in accounting and Savannah State University in the Pathway teacher’s education Program. 

Dorothy worked at Savannah State University for almost twenty two years.  She worked in the office of the president and currently was working as a human resource specialist in the Department of Human Resources.  Dorothy was always complemented on her sweet, gentle and kind spirit.  She spoke very softly and always had a smile and encouraging word for everyone she came in contact with. 

  Dorothy was always active in the church including Lighthouse Full Gospel in Pasadena, California, Lewis Pentecostal Temple in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., Solomon Temple Savannah, Georgia, and Bread of life Savannah, Georgia.  Dorothy was a missionary and first lady of Holy Jerusalem Church of God in Christ and also served as first lady of the Headquarters District. For the churches of South East Georgia Jurisdiction. 

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband, Supt. Dr. Willie E. Johnson, two sons Earl A. Johnson of Rome, Georgia, Omar M.K. (Sabrina)  of Richmond Hill, Georgia and daughter Maisha E. (David) of Richmond Hill, Georgia, five brothers Kenneth of  Altadena, California (Georgina), Oliver(Eloise) of {Pasadena, California, Murray (Wanda) of  Duarte, California, and Leroy(Sandy) of  Ontario, California; three sisters Vivian Charles (Milton)  of Altadena, California, Sheralyn Harmon (Larry) of Duarte, California and Beverly Ficklin of Palmdale, California. Brother in laws Charles Johnson (Sonya) of Waverly, Virginia and Ray K. Johnson (Sandra) of Orlando, Florida,  seven grandchildren,  one great grandson, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins,  friends, co-workers from Savannah State University, the Holy Jerusalem  and South East Georgia Jurisdiction church family.
